A.J. has served as a deputy public defender for over 26 years, handling serious felony cases in courtrooms and in front of juries on a near-daily basis. In that time, he has taken more than 100 jury trials to verdict. In 2026 alone, he tried three more cases to verdict — including one while actively campaigning.
